Sarah Baartman West FPA hereby announces the revision of their Section 5(1)(a) Veldfire Management Strategy for the registered area of the Sarah Baartman West FPA, which is located in the Kouga Local Municipality and parts of the Kou-Kamma and Sundays River Valley Local Municipalities in the Sarah Baartman District.

This strategy has been drafted to be in-line with Section 5(1)(a) of the National Veld and Forest Fire Act, 101 of 1998, which reads as follows:

5. (1) A fire protection association must at least-

(a) develop and apply a veldfire management strategy for its area;

This strategy has been drafted to enable the strengthening of veldfire management in the Sarah Baartman West FPA area and to provide for a mechanism to achieve a better integrated fire management approach.

Any Landowners and interested Stakeholders within the Sarah Baartman West FPA Area are open to comment on the Veldfire Management Strategy.
